November Open Mic Night
Friday, November 3, 2006 at 8pm, signup at 7:30pm
Calling all actors, storytellers, poets, comics, musicians and performers- try out new or old material in a safe space. First ten people to sign up at 7:30pm will get to show their stuff at 8pm. Performances limited to 10 minutes each. Free to performers; all others suggested donation of $5. The High Lonesome, a five-member group of Wesleyan students with a jugband-jazz sensibility, will host the November Open Mic, kicking off the artistry with a short set. Refreshments will be served.

A word shop in collaboration, poetry, and performance with Gina Ulysse. Bring your poems, writings, lyrics and an open mind. Space is limited so call to register at 860-685-7871. $25

GINA ULYSSE
, is an assistant professor of Anthropology and African American Studies at Wesleyan, as well as a poet/performer and multi-media artist. Born in Haiti, she migrated to the U.S. and received her PhD in Anthropology from the university in 1999.
